improved rapportive “links in” linkedin

just a day after my post comparing rapportive’s social crm plugin for gmail with the more recent gist version, rapportive has upped the ante with added functionality. the rapportive profile now tells me if I am connected with a contact or not, and offers one-click access to the linkedin site to request a connection or review the contact’s profile. this is a really smart move and promises to make the plugin even more valuable for average business users. if you use gmail and are not using rapportive yet – do it! I’ll wait.

rapportive plugin for gmail now includes data from linkedin

I was happy to see that when I linked my linkedin account, it asked me whether to display my linkedin location and recent positions. I’ve already tweaked my rapportive profile to display those, so I said no.

here are profiles for two contacts. For the contact with whom I’m not connected on linkedin, the rapportive profile serves as a reminder as well as a one-click way to request the link. For the contact to whom I am connected, I have a super easy way to access their linkedin profile!

nice move, rapportive.
