don’t lose sight of the card

three card monte scammer with victim
source: theatermagic.com

alice and I have a disagreement.
she believes the news should report Trump’s statements verbatim regarding his position on federal versus state responsibilities re provisioning emergency supplies on the front lines.

Trump said “that (getting emergency supplies for testing and treatment) is the governors’ job. We’re not a shipping clerk.” Newscasters keep repeating it like they can’t believe he would be such a jerk. Maybe, but that’s not the real issue. The carney’s patter is designed to distract.

The critical point is that Trump believes that it’s up to the states to handle this enormous task.

Stop asking governors how they felt about what Trump said.

Start asking if he’s wrong, why he’s wrong, and what Congress or the states can do to force the federal government to do what they are supposed to.

don’t fall for the distraction. keep your eye on your card.
